It wasn’t her grey hair or the wrinkles.
It wasn’t her weight loss or the protruding bones.
It wasn’t the tooth decay and the lack of an affordable dentist.
It wasn’t the weed-filled garden, once her pride and joy, or the trees grown so huge it was like living in a forest.
It wasn’t her husband’s dementia or the death of their dog.
It was climbing into bed one freezing cold night and her husband turning towards her, wrapping his warm arms and legs around her frozen limbs and the feeling that filled her heart.
