They named him The Businessman, because of the suit but also because of his swagger. Meowmix pantry he would tell each passerby on the sidewalk. Cattleprow tasty, he said. Clips of his strangeness soon appeared on Instagram, then TikTok, then cable news, and it came to light that he really was a titan of industry, that the Armani three-piece was his daily uniform, that the tall spire he gestured to was actually his. We had it all wrong: he wasn’t crazy, wasn’t so different from the rest of us. He was simply the first.
