Panicles of Paulownia

The shadows in far rightfield move like a meadow with its eyes closed. The batter practices, swinging a panicle with purple Paulownia flowers all over. The announcer says, “Here comes the Homerun Kid with his magic plantmatter.” Someone next to me says Homerun Kid is the batter’s legal name & his sorrow over this makes him a force at the plate. His tears catch the sunlight & we begin weeping into our novelty helmet nachos. His parents eat with their hands from glowing bowls of pure hate.
