He now knows he doesn’t need world cruises, affairs with models, or ghostly visitations from his long dead wife. It’s the scent of pie cooling. The limping cat’s meow after three days absence. The sharp sting of relief when an unruly nose hair is plucked. The touch of worn motorcycle leathers, soft despite their many scars. It’s these small pleasures woven into an open highway that’s still willing to wait.
