When we were young and eager our lives played out like foreign cinema. Such lust and excitement, paintings were known to melt in our vicinity. Decades wiped by, only fading memories of that linger. Now it’s the small things: feeling for a hand when the morning sun lightens the bedroom window, silent coffee, the wind rustling through our hillside house, meandering walks into town with dog, early dinners and red vino. You reminding me daily that Tuscany is still there, seasons changing. Scrabble by the fire nights, lap blankets, waiting for our daughter to call.
