God’s featuring at the Purgatory Abyss Open Mic, hybrid-zoom, and the fallen angel Host working the steps with a torn meniscus wants an updated 50-word bio and headshot.  I’m just the Personal Assistant in a holey beret who answers a few of God’s DM’s on Instagram, keeps a spreadsheet of miracles, and sends out the dry cleaning, but brief bios of the boss are not my bailiwick. How do you not include the history of the world and all the magazines who published you, along with those who rejected you— and whose doors mysteriously closed after that, if you happen to be… You-Know-Who. As for a headshot—the one in the clouds, or surfing a tsunami, or looking pensive over coffee and pie while writing in a language no one yet understands. And what’s with the 15-minute limit, when God’s got eternity on an iPhone with unlimited data. How about a one-word bio: GOD, and a Milky Way headshot.

Guy Biederman is the author of six books of short prose and poetry, including Translated from The Original, one-inch punch fiction, Black Lawrence Press.
